Reading the readings The problem of evil is perhaps the most serious challenge to belief in an all-loving, creator God. In this anthology we explore both the practical, existential or spiritual problem of coping with evil, and the more theoretical, intellectual or theological problem of explaining it. As the first two chapters of readings indicate, these two approaches cannot readily be separated in human experience and reflection, including the experience and reflection of lived religion.
